The Imperial Self-Heating Iron from the early 1900s was a revolutionary design for its time. This iron didn’t require a traditional stove or heat source. Instead, it used a self-contained system of heating, a metal reservoir where a chemical reaction would generate heat. This made it much more convenient than earlier irons, which needed to be heated on a stove or over an open flame. These vintage irons are now rare a find and collectible.
